Range of the Florida Panther

Once the panther ranged throughout Florida as well as throughout much of the southeastern United States from Louisiana north and east to Tennessee and the Atlantic. Today only about 100 adult panthers exist on protected state and federal lands and the remaining private lands in southwest Florida, making them among the most endangered animals in the world. Young, dispersing males have been documented in other parts of the state but the breeding population remains restricted to south Florida.
